Biography

Aladdin Sane was formed in the summer of 1981. Original members included Bob Lorkowski (vocals), Randy Williams (bass), Sean Borton (guitar), and Bob Rogowski (drums). In November of 1981 Bob Rogowski left the band for a career in country music, and was replaced by Ron Taylor, formerly of the Negatives. By February 1982 the band hired Dale Penney as their full time drummer.

Aladdin Sane was often regarded as a "Punk" band as they covered songs by unknown artists (at the time) such as "The Stray Cats", "U2", "Billy Idol", etc, etc. This forced the group to create it's own jobs, such as it's first "GIG" held at the Nor-Shor Motor Hotel in Thunder Bay Ont.

Despite the label "Punk" and their young age, they managed to work 2 weekendsout of every month in some very covted gigs. By June of 1982 the band split up or good but to this day many musicians in Thunder Bay remember Aladdin Sane. The Youngest and Hottest band to entertain Thunder Bay.
