Biography

Young blues and rock band that played at weekly dances in local highschools and Fort William Gardens in the late 60's. Founding members: Allen Smith (guitarist), David Dubick (guitarist), Kevin O'Neil (vocals), Rod Peltonen,(bass), Grant Babion (keyboards), and Terry Northway (drums). This group was fortunate enough to open for the Guess Who in consecutive years and Paul Revere and the Raiders in another big Gardens gig.

The Electric Church evolved into a rhythm and blues band, with a touch of soul, that featured Kevin O'Neil and Bev Holbrook sharing lead vocals. Don McRae and Tom Yule joined the band to provide a brass component.

The Electric Church were together for a period covering 1968 to 1970. The band later changed its name to Orpheus.
