Biography

Fearless Cream Soda was a relatively short-lived band that rose from the ashes of the even shorter-lived Marshall Foxx Group in the late 1970's. FCS comprised MFG alumni Chris Walsh (guitar, vocals, bass), Ken Cory (keys, vocals, bass), and Grant MacIntosh (drums, vocals) with the addition of guitarist/vocalist/bassist Corry Vidotto, soundman Mike Harrow and lead singer/frontman Ron Specht. They covered challenging tunes by artists such as The Who, Todd Rudgren, Steely Dan, Supertramp, Billy Joel, and Randy Newman, as well as the normal bar-band fare of the day, such as the Stones, Steve Miller and Joe Walsh. There were two or three original songs in the works, but none of them made it into the regular repertoire. The band's signature encore was The Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again", with awesome guitar work by Chris, amazing synthesizer by Ken, and the tight and virtuosic rhythm section of Grant and Corry. The band played numerous venues in Port Arthur and Fort William, as well as Dryden, Nipigon, Atikokan, Schreiber, and a few centres to the West (Alberta).

Squeezed between disco and punk, Fearless Cream Soda broke up in 1978 after about 18 months, at the end of a tour of the Prairies. The typical pressures of family, career, and musical direction were all factors in the band's demise.
