Jeff Dubois formed an Industrial band named Access Denied in the mid-90's with DJ Sures. Instruments at the time consisted of Synthesizers and Drum Machines. Access Denied was heavily influenced by skinny puppy, front line assembly, front 242, ggfh, and duran duran. They played several shows at Crocks N Rolls and made two 4-track recordings.

After Access Denied, Jeff formed Fiction with Mary-Jane Fogarty and Eric Ticknor. The band's drummer was Darryl Lahteenmaa. Fiction went after a "goth-pop" fusion sound and was influenced heavily by slowdive, the cure, the cranes, and portishead.

Jeff Dubois also formed Close Encounter Productions with friends Davide Lahteenmaa, Dave Shaw, Ryan Slivchak, Eric Ticknor, April Leino, and Carson Baxter. CEP went on to throw a variety of Thunder Bay's first electronic music shows, including events such as "Future Shag 2000" (at what would later become The Apollo), "Deep", and "Contact 10". The CEP DJ's are all still playing records and writing music today. Jeff Dubois is DJ'ing and writing music in Minneapolis, MN. Dave Shaw and Dave Lahteenmaa are both DJ'ing and writing music in montreal. Eric Ticknor is writing music in Vancouver, and Carson Baxter is DJing in London, UK.
