Biography

Scott van Teeffelen (pronounced van "Tea"-flin): August 1st, 1969-

Born and raised in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Scott currently resides with his family in a small rural community west of the city. Since an early age Scott has been an active musician being fascinated with all types of music. With his passion for music Scott has become adept at numerous styles of music and several different instruments including Piano / Keyboards, acoustic Guitar & Trumpet to name a few. He has played all venues from concerts, to festivals and with groups ranging from orchestral bands to church choirs and, of course, on stage as a solo performer.

Scott performs both 100% original material as well as country favourites. Some of his favourite artists are George Strait, Brooks & Dunn, Billy Joel, Elton John, Steven Curtis Chapman and Alan Jackson to name a few. As a member of the Lappe Lutheran Church Choir, Scott sings not only in English but also Latin, Finnish, French and even Swahili. In 1990 Scott was involved with a musical project by the name of "Hope 1". This project was a compilation of all local artists with all original music. All the profits were donated to the local chapter of "Child Find". He was showcased on the CTV network's weekly program "Up & Coming" in the spring of 1994. Three original songs were produced in the studios along with three videos and were aired all across Canada. In August 2001, Scott performed at the OCPFA Superior Country Festival in Murillo, Ontario as a local headliner. The audience response was phenomenal. Scott was later approached by the Thunder Bay Legends, who do tributes to various artists, to perform as George Strait. His audience pleasing success has prompted a tribute to Billy Joel and 1/2 of the Everly Brothers. Scott had the opportunity to open the show for country music legend Don Williams in April 2002, on the main stage at the Thunder Bay Community Auditorium. The audience response was, once again, phenomenal. Scott released his song "That's Life" to local radio in September 2002 and also received a warm welcome on European radio.

Scott van Teeffelen is a very versatile performer who has wowed audiences for his whole life. His Debut CD "North" is sure to turn some heads and anchor his future in country music.
