Biography

BRAD LEISHMAN is the foundation that holds this power trio all together. The steady delivery of percussion that Brad contributes to the band ampliflys all their diversity in everything they attempt.

In 1983 Brad was working at a local bowling alley and the owner had a set of Drums. The first time Brad sat behind them he realized that learning to play would be a lifelong passion so in 1984 he went out and got his first set of Stewart drums. After work, late at night the bowling crew would drive home, pick up the drums and set them up at the bowling alley jamming until the wee hours of the morning. After awhile he wanted to practice all the time but this however would be a problem. Living in a duplex most of his younger life the neighbor didn't appreciate his quest for musical knowledge all hours of the day. After many threats and warnings and eviction, he co-ordinated his schedule with the neighbor's work schedule and found the solution.

Emulating all the Ringo, Bonham, Buddy Rich and Neil Pert riffs that he could, he went out to seek more musical knowledge by receiving lessons from the former head percussionist for the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra. Finding new love for all styles of music he further challenged himself by working on his drumming versatility, Rock, Jazz, Latin and Military drumming.

In between 1988 and 1994 Brad was doing quite a bit of traveling, playing with bands like Marauder, Killing Floor and Scary Tooth Fairy, and opening up for bands like Helix, Sass Jordan, Haywire and Brighton Rock. In 1994 Brad went to College working on his Diploma for Health Record's Administration. All the time he was in College, he was also playing evenings with local bands such as Centerline, Karina Long, Daylin James, Scott Skirving, Stiff Upper Lip, and The Stanley Steamers. He also spent evenings in the local recording studios, working and projects and albums for Scott Skirving, Stiff Upper Lip, Shelly Buffit and Bert Cantin. After receiving his diploma he strived to find a local band that didn't want to travel so he could also work at the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital and that's when he bumped into Chris and Arden, two road veterans who also had day jobs and didn't want to wander too far from Thunder Bay.

Brad takes drumming very seriously, occasionally giving a quick smirk then it is back to business. He always plays with conviction, imagination and always with taste. Every once in a while you will get a fiery drum fill, but Brad prides himself on laying down a rock steady groove in all the different styles of music the band plays.
