Biography

  • Russ Nicholetts started his musical journey at a very early age, as his parents made sure to play a variety of rock and roll and country while Russ was still in the womb. Soon, Russ was born, humming the basic 12-bar chord structure prevailent in many of the classic Elvis songs. By the time Russ was 8 years old, he had already started taking piano at the Avila Center. Russ's love for guitar and his appetite for rock soon led him to the electric guitar, and soon he was taking lessons from Tim Montroy for a few years. His first band Kicks only lasted a few months. After the band broke up Russ made a career of audio work. Later, when he was playing with Rough Mix a love of R&B was started. When Russ was hired to do Sound for Tender Mercys one night, he realized that this band was obviously the next best thing to come along since sliced white bread and wine, so he grabbed his Guitar, shed his inhibitions and joined in the fun!
