Album writeup:

‘Windows and Doors’ is an album about choice and ambition. While some settle for the easily attainable [doors], De Roover makes it his mission to turn his idealistic dreams and goals [windows] into a reality. He proves this throughout the album, having invited talented performers to join him in the studio, self-producing 14 tracks that explore the binary relationship between choosing ‘windows’ or ‘doors’. Musically, the album covers many genres, including rock, pop and folk, but also experimenting with conventional music by incorporating dance (1), electronic (8), a capella (10) and even punk (4) into the mix. Continuing with the theme of the album, the songs fit into either traditional, more accessible structures, or imaginative and experimental forms. No matter what audience, every listener will find fulfillment in the variety of this album.

However, ‘Windows and Doors’ doesn’t stop with the audio disc, as it is accompanied by a feature length DVD filled with live performances , each in their own unique locations, concert footage, a ‘making of the album’ featurette and 2 music videos. Combine both discs in a limited edition digipak that folds out to build a 3- dimensional house, the dichotomous concept of ‘Windows and Doors’ becomes complete, through music and film, studio sessions and live recordings.
