With Regard formed out of the ashes of [[I Shot Jr]], adding [[Troy Balec]] on [[Guitar]] and [[Mike Butt]] on [[Bass]] to replace [[Derek Bosomworth]] from ISJR.  The sound became sonically different as the band attempted to mature it's sound and fully utilize the three guitar section.  The sound became a little bit more artistic and melodic, which sparatic injections of Shanks' scream stylings.  They released a self titled demo recorded with [[Aaron Long]] in 2002 which contained the tracks The Aftermath of Mendacity, Flawless, Six Months, Human, and Episode.

Shortly after it's release, Troy left the band and Eric moved away for school. The remaining core of Jon, Bone, Butts proceeded to continue writing, then later pick up [[Ryan Marchand]] previously of [[Falsity]] to complete the sound.  With Regard "version 2" released a full length LP titled "Perpetual Silence" in 2003 recorded with [[Rob Jardine]].  Copies of Perpetual Silence are available at CD plus, Underground Ink, Colosimo's Music, and Future Shop.
