Dean has played and toured with the [[Northern Roots Band]] and [[Rodney Brown]] opening for the likes of Little River Band, Fred Eaglesmith, [[Ian Tamblyn]] as well as being featured on CBC's "Vinyl cafe". Dean was a founding member of The [[Derivatives]] which started as a Bluegrass/folk group in college in 1981 and evolved into a country rock group by the mid 90's.
