Biography

Crosstown started as a blues band and was formed by Jerry Depiero, Dave Campbell and Gord Ellis in Dave's basement some time in 1985. The band had a few different band mates, including Randy Breiland, Gord's friend since nursery school. Breiland left the band in early 1987, after that the band was Dave Campbell on drums, Dave Smythe on guitar, Bernie Snook on bass, Jerry Depiero on vocals and harp and Gord Ellis on guitar and vocals. Crosstown did countless gigs, learned well over 100 blues, R and B and rock standards and played just about every room that had a stage in Thunder Bay. The band played its last gig at the Office on July 27, 1989. After that, the members went their separate ways.

Crosstown did a reunion set at Crocks in Thunder Bay, on July 27, 2012. Exactly 23 years after their last official gig. The positive recation has lead the band to reform with four of the five orginal members. The rebooted Crosstown played it's first full gig in 24 years at Beaux Daddy's, in Thunder Bay, on Feb 16, 2013. Alex Jecchinis has joined the group on bass.
