Chad Decent was born and raised in the wilds of somewhere that is believed to be "awesome". He is writing and performing music for voice and electric guitar. He does this because no one has yet told him to stop. Which is strange because he's not very great at it.
+
No.
In the late 1950's, when Chad was in his early 10's, his family relocated to a plastics farm in Wisconsin. The family settled in and was quite happy with the whole shabang. Someone eventually informed Chad's father that you can't grow plastic and soon after, the entire operation was shut down. The family stayed and squatted on the property for many moons. 16 Moons, in fact.
+
This steadfast family defiance of logic and legality played a big role in influencing Chad's independant attitude toward life and the pursuit of all things "awesome". "I like doing things for myself. That way, when they blow up in my face, no one gets mad at me". Such wisdom could only have been expressed by the mind of a true genius. At least that's what Chad tells everyone he says that to.
+
In the early 90's Chad moved up to Thunder Bay with the intent of starting his own plastics farm. Unsuprisingly, things did not go as planned. He was eventually forced to move into an apartment downtown, when a local nursery had him arrested for pouring melted plastic into one of their plant beds. Undaunted, Chad decided to pick up his trusty ol' electric guitar and write a song called "Plastic Farming Blues". The song was terrible. Chad put the guitar back down and went to the movies.
+
A few years later, Chad decided to start writing songs again. He performed this new material for Matt Henry and Harris Leech of The Way Back. They both said the songs were terrible and that "no one wants to hear stupid droning ballads about how plastic farming is the way of the future". Undaunted, Chad began to perform the new material to large crowds at state fairs and Ukrainian religious ceremonies. He would be escorted off the premises by local authorities at every performance.
+
Today, Chad is happily performing his half-assed excuse for "songs" in, around, and on top of Thunder Bay and Westfort. Well, not Westfort. Fuck Westfort.
